Re: [microsound] louisville, kentucky?
yeah, to echo thaniel, down on market st. there are a few nice
galleries. for musical happenings you might go up to the record stores
which proliferate the highlands (bardstown road - the "hip" street) and
check out some flyers there's usually something amusing enough
happening. architecturally i'm not so sure where would be most
interesting, but a little jaunt on the river might be pleasant for an
out of towner and check out the belle of louisville, a neat riverboat
that might still be doing daily cruises even in winter.
and check out thaniel's stuff on market for sure, really great work.
monday at artswatch usually turns up something interesting to a degree
though their advertising leaves a bit to be desired.
foods: santa fe grill is the greatest mexican restaurant i've had the
pleasure of going to, a big purple building near 3rd and central.
lemongrass cafe, omar's gyros, and others up on bardstown road are nice
as well...vietnam kitchen further out 3rd in iroquois plaza is a
popular eatery as well. closer in on 3rd and oak i believe is 3rd ave.
cafe, popular amongst the vegans and co. though i have yet to leave
fully satisfied as a meat eater. nonetheless, if your tummy is a
concern there should be plenty to do :)
louisville is a great town, and we've actually been getting some really
great musical folks coming through of late, including a few listmembers
i think. it's just a little too small for some, a little too drunk for
others, a little too content and vain for its own good undoubtedly but
it's home i suppose :)
peace,
connor
