Re: [microsound] (OT) Midi Guitar?

i have a roland gr-33 unit which does this (the gr-30 was the earlier model).
you need a special hex pickup from roland that has to be bought separately.
with this pickup you can also use the vg-88 COSM machine. the synth engine in
the gr-33 is utter crap but it sends midi, albeit at a lesser level of tracking
perfection than when using the internal sounds. aside from actually midi guitar
units, there are pitch to midi converters, but tracking is an issue. i'd go
with the roland unit. it's the best, although that's not saying much. tracking
has improved immensely over the years but it's far from perfect. there's also
the GI-20 with no synth.
