it depends, the budget rules

in analog domain:
I suggest two mono summit tla100 linked togheter for compression and a good
eq like oram, focusrite or amek
I' ve also used a Chiswick Reach compresor and sounds very good

in digital domain:
normally I use McDSP to eq and tc electronics master x for compression
