RE: [microsound] acapella>enviromental influance

Wasn't there a Brazillian acapella recording of an Autechre track on a Luaka
Bop disc?

Try Meredith Monk. Not always acapella and not really a band, her
compositions do tend to center around unusual uses of the voice. Many of her
recordings are related to her other work for stage and film (Yep, she's a
"multimedia artist") and, therefore, tend to be conceptual in nature.

Two recommendations: Both "Mercy" and "Facing North" still get rotation on
my play list. The later written with the desire to sonically express the
sensations brought on by a Canadian winter. I can't say I've spent a winter
in Canada nor feel the need to ( No offence to the Canadian readers, but if
I have to deal with snow I want it served in inches not feet...) but
listening to this piece does conjure up sensations that I imagine to be the
authors intentions - Canadians, does she get close?
