[microsound] Andrew Duke--Eleven uploaded to madrid project drop box

Just uploaded Eleven.mp3 and Eleven.txt for the Madrid Project.

Below is the text of

Eleven.txt:

Andrew Duke--Eleven
This is a recording prompted by the continued
loss of lives internationally at the hands of
violence, most recently the 190 who died in
Madrid on March 11, 2004. Created solely
from text-to-sound conversions of "Madrid",
"cercanías", "March 11, 2004", and a jpeg of
one of the bombed cercanías. Exactly 11 seconds
in duration: ten seconds of sound followed
by 1 second of no sound (which was created
by compressing the ten seconds to one and
then silencing the result). Though I have
created songs in the past with these methods,
the result here is quite different and intentionally
my harshest piece to date; if it sounds akin
to a careening ambulance in a time of distress,
there is, unfortunately, no coincidence. Take care.
