Re: [microsound] Louder But Silence
I believe that it is necessary to consider musical silence as a
~(~directive) form of discourse within a music context. The derived
investigation is thus (generally): What is the validity of contemporaneous
forms of discourse (musical activities) relative to a music context?
Furthermore, I believe that this question may be explored by analysis of the
syntactical, formal, and social systems present in a form of discourse.
This route of questioning can be used as a tool in order to *elucidate* a
work's self-reflexivity, utilitarianism, and expressive devices; meanwhile
shedding light upon structural and class relations.
