The cruel summer is practically here, and so are the news.
Our latest release:
CORNUCOPIA "diámetros" CD [plelo002]
Recorded live on April 29, 2003 "diámetros" is the brand new album release
by Cornucopia, an internationally known sound art project from Puerto Rico.
Claudio Chea and Jorge Castro's electroacoustic pieces have been performed
live throughout Europe, North and Central America and their own Caribbean
island-home. Through the internet, their work has been heard all around the
world.
For the "diametros" performance data sound files and field recordings (both
manipulated and untouched) were processed beyond recognition. The resulting
sound is a giant, abrasive wall of sound that results in a 40 minute feeling
of dreamy claustrophobia.
This metallic sounding piece is matched by the similarly solid packaging and
cover art, which appears as elegant and sturdy, yet cold and devoid of any
human sensation as the sounds contained within.
Mastered by Claudio Chea at Paralelo 18.
Released April 2004.

Concreto" @ Zeppelin Festival de Arte Sonoro, CCCB
Barrera de Concreto will be presented as part of the exhibit "Del Acuerdo y
el Conflicto" at the international Sound Art festival Zeppelin @
<http://www.cccb.org> The Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona,
Spain.
The exhibit will consist of a continuous presentation in loudspeakers of
sound art pieces against war.
Taken from the website:
This year, Zèppelin2004-Festival de Arte Sonoro is focussing on audio
material relating to situations of conflict and consensus in human
societies. In this spirit, and specially conscious of the important role
played by sound in the mass demonstrations against the pre-emptive attack on
Iraq that took place throughout the world in March and April 2003, we invite
musicians and artists around the world to create sound pieces expressing a
total rejection of armed conflicts of any kind, to be played back on a
high-quality, 8-speaker system in the CCCB Hall area during the festival.
The speakers will be arranged around a large semi-circular space and operate
continuously between the 19th and the 22nd of May 2004, so that individual
pieces will be played various times during the festival.
