[microsound] Cognition Audioworks April 2004 update

Been a very long time since the last update was mailed out, partly
due to the fact that Netscape 7.1 decided to --twice--eat all of
my email messages, bookmarks, and email address books.

Cognition Audioworks news:
Foal is readying his "Foliage" album; will be out in a couple of
months; recommended for fans of Mitchell Akiyama, Tomas
Jirku, and Polmo Polpo.
Clinker wowed them at Mutek last year and his "Unloading 550 volts"
album is almost ready to go; look for it following the release of Foal's album.
Granny'Ark is getting rave reviews (5 of of 5 stars in De:bug)
for her EP on Zora Lanson/Kompakt and we are looking forward
to releasing a full-length album from her in early 2005.
Click on the "artists" link on http://cognitionaudioworks.com and
it will link you to the above artists' personal websites to hear audio
and read more.
Andrew Duke is continuing to get great reviews (read 'em at
http://cognitionaudioworks.com by clicking on artists/andrew duke) for his
Take Nothing For Granted album (caw020); kind things are also being
said about the "Environmental Politics" EP (http://and-oar.org). Cognition Audioworks
has just re-released his 2002 album More Destructive Than Organized
(caw021; originally out on The Netherland's Bake/Staalplaat) with 3 new tracks,
including a collaboration with Montreal's I8U; look for the collaborative
album from Andrew Duke and I8U to be released by Fallt/Bip-Hop later this
year. Out soon from Andrew Duke is Just Because You Can Doesn't Mean You Should
(caw022) which features contributions from Cornucopia, Polmo Polpo,
Loam, and Kim Cascone. Available soon via and/OAR's diffusion,
Canadian Music Centre, Piehead, and Ping Things; for information on
where to buy these and other Cognition Audioworks releases, please go to
http://cognitionaudioworks.com and click on the "buy" link.

Andrew Duke is currently doing sound design for David Clark's
"Likewise" (which will be featured in Montreal April 15 and
Toronto April 21); more info: http://www.mobilegaze.com/pause/
(I8U also has a piece in this project). Next he will be recording
"Remembering Jason Trenholm" for Bip-Hop (to be accompanied
by remixes of tracks from "Sprung" from artists including David Kristian,
Steb Sly, Safety Scissors, Tomas Jirku, I8U, and more).
