[microsound] on working methods for live performance

Hi all,
I'm currently researching "live electronic music performance" for a
university project and was hoping some of you may like to share your opinions on the
matter.

For instance, do think it's important for the audience to know the performers
working process? Do you think the guy and his powerbook is boring or the way
to go? Who puts on a good show using electronics?
In my opinion, leafcutter john, kaffe matthews and fennesz are doing the most
interesting stuff at the moment. Kaffe Matthews makes her working methods
very clear. Do you think it would be the same if we weren't aware and took the
sound at face value? Leafcutter has his "midi breasts" thing going on. Who
else uses interesting interfaces? Fennesz (in my opinion) is the only
powerbook guy who can really pull it off.
What do you reckon?
Looking forward to hearing your opinions,
Michael Wright.
