[microsound] NEEDED: VISUALS FOR THE MADRID PROJECT

pixel-jockeys who like working with PhotoShop, Illustrator, Jitter, OpenGL
or whatever tool you happen to like working with: we need artwork for the
Madrid Project web site...
please do not forget the horror and tragedy that took place in Madrid
earlier this year and contribute to the project...
also, anyone still wanting to contribute a piece of music/sound/atmospheric
fluctuations can still do so...please UL any pieces to the hotline server
per the instructions given in the invitation...

posted again for newbies:
=======================

Madrid Project for Microsound
--------------------------------------

please excuse my fragmented thoughts but I am trying to find the correct
words to describe this project so it shows respect to the victims of 3-11:

an act of terrorism took place in Madrid on March 11th that devastated the
world...a country still healing from the bloodshed and destruction of
Franco's fascist regime was hit again with more violence...

while it is still not clear who exactly is responsible for the bombings that
occurred in Madrid it is clear that the systems we have in place which
affords wealth and power to the few - over the many - no longer work and are
the cause of many of our current problems and impede the development true
democracies...
during the Spanish Civil War many artists and intellectuals helped the
Spanish by fighting against the Nationalist factions...it is no surprise
that artists from around the world always seem ready and willing to come to
the aid of the Spanish people when they experience tragedy...it is time once
again to show the Spanish people that we care by expressing our thoughts and
feelings about this recent travesty...

guidelines:
========
- compose a piece of soundart/music/noise/etc no longer than 5 minutes in
length that deals with the recent bombings in Madrid...

- your piece should follow all the guidelines of previous projects (i.e.,
follow file naming convention, be at the correct bitrate)...look on the
microsound web site for more info...

- place your piece in a drop box on the hotline server...I will make a
folder for this project *as soon as the server is back up*

- announce to the list when your piece is ready but *again the server is
down until Eric can resolve the problems he is experiencing with his
system*...I was told that by Monday everything should be back in working
order...I'll email Eric and get an update tomorrow...

- this project is meant purely as one small communities expression of
empathy towards the victims of this horrific tragedy, their families and the
people of Spain.
