[microsound] microbodywork (farewell show to Rasmus Jorgenson)

hi

please come to a fabulously free evening of work by
Rasmus Jorgenson (*see note below). Rasmus is leaving
the Bay Area soon to return to Europe following a
short tour in north america. His work is amazingly
focused and yet lyrically chaotic and disorienting.
There are simulateously a huge crowd and yet only one
person on stage at a time. Imagine all of Samuel
Becketts characters in a room together, confused over
whether they were having a knife fight or birthday
cake. And this is your last chance to see this
gentleman perform for a long time.

this THURSDAY at 9pm at Eddie's Park (%see note below)
in West Oakland

its FREE and if you are lucky there will be snacks.

Rasmus is the only person performing this night so it
won't keep you out too late, however please come by
9:00 as soon thereafter we must shut off the telephone
(&see note) in order to preserve the ripples of
mystery which Rasmus will release into the spacetime
mold sequence.

yours in support of the cause,

Jorge Boehringer

here is some information about Rasmus, and then how to
get to the show:

Rasmus Jørgensen currently works primarily with the
voice and body. As a performer he enjoys the challenge
of limiting himself to these tools in creating pieces
of rich complexity. By stylizing speech and body
language in a manner approaching song and dance,
Jørgensen attempts to deal with issues that are
inherent in habits of expression
another Rasmus show before he returns to Europe:
May 20-30, Edmonton, Canada, Visualeyez Festival:
Premier of
site-specific,
long-durational solo piece that includes digging
himself into a hole
with a
tea spoon.
