RE: [microsound] OT - Draft by 2005 - And a side note

There has been alot more then a peep about what has
happend to american people, since 9-11 and up thru
this war. And back around 9-11 it had to do, I think
more about the suffering of human beings in NYC. Much
like the compassion that has been expressed to those
in Madrid. Also, just wanted to note that i myself -
for what its worth - am IN the usa. new york city,
kid.

Devils advocate may give you the illusion that you are
bursting some bubbles and whatnot, but it ain't
focused or clear as to what *you think*. Wear tricky
and squirmy masks, fine, but don't be surprised if
people are outraged. Or is this what you want? (and
that is trolling, by the way).

No one, again NO ONE, is taking anything away from
what has happened to americans, OK?! Seriously ->
*that feeling* of resentment is in *your* head!

Look at this from a bigger perspective. It is not
about Americans vs. [you fill in the blank]. It is
about human beings, always, first and foremost. Even
if the USA or France of Vietnam, etc. is the best
thing/country/nation in the world or something, this
will always be because of human beings believing in
and practicing decent, imaginative and just ways of
living and being with each other -- overwhelmingly
(and not relatively -- that is, 'in comparison'. The
'in comparison' model is not enough - it just embroils
one in creating complicated defenses of relatively
"not-as-bad" practices and events)

In any case, this was torture. It qualifies,
conventionally (despite not reaching what the word
evokes from movies and tv scenes of torture, it still
qualifies, in "conventional" legal, world-recognized
terms). You can try and play it down so as to
basically normalize things and make it more or less
alright, just ordinary stuff by a couple of kids, so
as to bring this to another level of 'discussion'
wherein you, leading the way, re-support this war.
Most ain't having it. For many it tends to show, how
misguided and wrong this occupation is. How riddled
with problems, and moral hypocrisies it is. But, hey
push that 'stuff' back. Live in denial. Play 'devil's
advocate' (talk about hypocrisy!). Kissinger and his
supporters did too. And hey, something like 2 million
people died in Cambodia, while we were told it was
neccesary for "peace with honor". Many folks defended
this at the time, saying 'well, what about our guys,
huh?!!' It was a good trick to deny the situation.
It is harder to do today. I hope.
