from what I know and as a quick response....

the music that is based
on the harmonic spectrum of the sounds.
in other words... they construct their pieces
after analyzing particular spectra from concrete sounds or
acoustic instruments....and then they
apply them into their orchestration.
it is timbre-based music actually that's why it has
a close relationship with electronic music.
