www.adozen.org/releases.htm

after a few months of research, communication and production adozen.org is
proud to announce it's first release:
the first part of the compilation "a baker's dozen".

with the second part to be released in fall, the whole compilation will
consist of thirteen tracks. download and enjoy! thanks to the talent and
contribution of these 6 artists:

- I8U (CA)

- o.s.t. (US)

- mvk (NL)

- [sic] (CA)

- luc doebereiner (DE)

- tigrics (HU)

in the last years netaudio became a popular and favoured mean of music
publication benefited by it's relatively easy way of distribution,
innovation and of course the involvement of an enthusiastic community.
netaudio's spread into the most different areas of so called "modern
electronic music" even helped in the appearence of a bunch of "fusion"
genres.

besides it's practical distribution advantages netaudio can also change the
fixed informative qualities of standard music publication media. obviously
there are less boundaries for more conceptual handlings, a more dynamic
interplay of information, concept, structure of a release and the music
itself. nonetheless netaudio hasn't fully exploited this potenial yet.

with our first release "a baker's dozen" we are starting off in this
direction, namely comments on the tracks by the artists themselves.
intentionally we did not give any requirements to the artists or have any
conceptual frame, but let our selection of artists and their involved ways
of
working create an "adozen sound". a label's first release has to be open and
definite at the same time. the non-existence of economic pressure is a basis
for the healthy collaboration of seasoned professionals and young talents.

- I8U (CA)
I8U (france jobin) has participated in various music and new technology
festivals such as mutek (montréal, 2001/2004), ver uit de maat (rotterdam,
2002), SEND + RECEIVE (winnipeg, 2003), les digitales (bruxelles, 2004) and
released for bake, staalplaat, oral and piehead records.

- o.s.t. (US)
o.s.t. (chris douglas) has been releasing on labels like phtalo, dial,
isolate, all tomorrow's parties, plug research, worm interface and qlipothic
since 1991. adozen.org is more than proud to have the "john
coltrane of techno" (xlr8r) contributing with a wonderful track to our first
comp.

- mvk (NL)
mvk (matthijs v. kouw) has presented his work in multiple contexts like
film, dance, theatre and collaborated with radboud mens and kelly davis.
furthermore he had a radio show on amsterdam's free "radio 100" from 1999 to
2003.

[sic] (jen morris) released on squirrelgirl and piehead records and has

bustling berlin, where she performed at the 2004 club transmediale.

haague and adozen.org co-founder.
