framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley

you may (or most likely may not) have noticed that this is our first playlist in four weeks. this is for the simple reason that our last edition was dedicated in its entirety to a series of events in london entitled the nearness of doing that be things, performed and curated by the hafler trio. h3o gave us an hour of exclusive material, which was broadcast with a short framework introduction, on 25.06.04. this week was, therefore, our first show for a month! luckily we managed to remember which buttons to push...

we were also treated to a special short notice visit: this week's edition featured a live appearance by michael northam and loren chasse (even he, we discovered, isn't quite sure how to pronounce his name), who were passing through london and agreed to come in and see us. michael and loren performed a live room mix of field recordings, electronics, and objects with the aid of ben green, maria de la paz sayago-candil, and me. as this all happened very short notice, i obviously wasn't able to warn you. but don't fret - if you missed the show but want to check out this performance, you still have time to catch the repeat this wednesday (tomorrow) at 11am bst (see below for time zone converter)!

michael and loren's performance was preceded by new and old material, including a framework intro, by jeph jerman (previously known as hands to), a new edition... release by m. behrens (who is currently working on an exclusive piece for framework using recordings of the resonancefm studio itself), and a new work by janek schaefer.

again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition or introduction submissions. send material, released or not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through london please get in touch!
