As a collaboration between electronic music composers and custom car 
enthusiasts, Urban Noise will showcase audio works that would be played and 
performed by customized automobiles. This project will present four 
electronic sound and music works specifically designed for quadrophonic 
presentation, whereby the separate elements will be played by moving 
vehicles that traverse an urban space. The specific acoustics of the outdoor 
setting alters the performative context-the converging and diverging 
patterns of sound creates a new context for musical and sonic presentation.

Bringing two different communities together for Urban Noise is meant to 
promote creative collaboration and to renew a sense of civic engagement 
through public performance. This outdoor sound and music event will occur as 
a stand alone event in the Bank District in downtown Los Angeles.
