wow, has bryn ever released a lot of post-humous (sp?)
albums. is he the avant version of tupac shakur?
jokes aside, i am a huge fan of his work, and know
that he re-editted a lot of his own music as well as
re-used samples, especially vocal snippets, over and
over. His music seems like one solid idea evolving
over the course of hundreds of hours of musical edits.
he was also a strict no-digital type guy, except
hypoctritically enough recording almost everythign on
DAT. I know he worked a lot with tape loops, and
directly mutilating the tape for distortion and other
effects. he also recorded so fast that even when
mistakes and unintended distortion did get caught on
an album, he had already recorded over the master so
there was no way to fix it. makes you wonder how many
of the glitches in his music are intentional. i
always thought that bryn's music was really
interesting to listen to from the point of view of a
glitch obsessed aesthetic like mine, and a lot of us
on the list no doubt, as the volume drops, skips and
distortions can be downright disruptive and
disorganized, yet/and seem so natural and unprocessed.
any other fans have a take on that?

for lots of info, interviews and a discography. i
don't know how up to date it is though.
