Thanks, Alex...

It all seems fairly straight ahead.

I've also found this app, if the phone allows audio
files as a ring, it'll turn any sample into a ring:

Most phones that can handle polyphonic ringtones let you download MIDI files through various means:

1. Web or WAP,
2. MMS messages,
3. USB or bluetooth connection to your computer.

I used to put MIDI files on a webserver, then use my phone to download
them with its own browser (with a Sharp GX10).

With my newest phone (a Sony Ericsson) I just copy MIDI files via
bluetooth off my computer. Despite this being better than using
WAP/GPRS/MMS to transfer the files, I miss my Sharp GX10 because
it let you access its FM synthesizer!

The synth on it was quite good considering they never seemed
to market that as a feature.

I don't know about what documentation you'd need to follow really,
do you mean in terms of what kinds of MIDI files phones support?

Cheers,

Alex

Hi,

It's common knowledge that cellphone rings are MIDI
files.

Is anyone familiar with how to get my own MIDI files
sent to a cell phone?

Is there are any documentation, or standards that should
be followed?
