i wasnt @ the RNC protests in NYC but from what i understand the LRAD
(Long Range Acoustic Device) weapon was turned on + used against
protesters:

these 'non lethal weapons' are very dangerous + can be just as lethal
(depending on how they are tuned) + perhaps more damaging on various
social + personal levels. long range health results are not publicly
known. the LRAD can be tuned to low settings that nauseate the crowd or
create feelings of generalized unease. obviously such tactics make ppl
disperse w/out any visual evidence of the weapons deployment or being
able to 'document' via recording the kind of police state abuse of
power that is occurring. this kind of invisibility of easily
recognizable evidence, i.e. no video on the evening news or on sites
such as indymedia, is a particularly important aspect of the repressive
police state that has developed in the US.
