I had a lot of trouble trying to make OO work on X-11...mostly 
dependencies that were needed and not able to be easily found...so I 
ended up buying Nisus, discovering AbiWord and then using both...also I 
typically have to make little diagrams for lectures and proposals and 
bought a 6 month license to EazyDraw but now that I have NeoOffice I'm 
thinking of switching to that for my pedestrian graphic design needs...
but if OO works on X-11 for you then by all means use it! :)
