03. YASUNAO TONE & HECKER

Continuamos con las últimas novedades del sello austríaco Mego, que lanza dos nuevos trabajos a cargo de Florian Hecker, músico electrónico conceptual de vocación ruidista, también austríaco. En este primer caso, colabora con otro explorador del ruido, el veterano japonés Yasunao Tone, siempre en la vanguardia desde que hace ya 40 años se uniera al movimiento Fluxus. Para esta obra, Tone parte de una serie de poemas japoneses del siglo octavo convertidos en sonido y posteriormente manipulados por Hecker

We continue with the last novelties of the Austrian label Mego, that is releasing two new works by Florian Hecker, conceptual electronic musician of noisy vocation, also from Austria. In this first case, he collaborates with another explorer of noise, the veteran Japanese Yasunao Tone, always ready in the front of the avant-garde since 40 years ago he joined the Fluxus movement. For this work, Tone departs from a series of Japanese poems of the Eighth Century that were transformed into sound and later on manipulated by Hecker

04. HECKER

El regreso de Florian Hecker, esta vez en solitario con un álbum, "PV Trecks", el cuarto de su carrera, continuación de alguna manera de su anterior trabajo "Sun Pandamonium" aunque algo más narrativo y menos intimidatorio. Este es uno de los 33 cortes que componen el álbum, cuya duración total en cualquier caso no supera los 34 minutos

Florian Hecker's return, this time in solitary with an album, "PV Trecks", the fourth in his career, somehow a continuation of his previous work "Sun Pandamonium" though perhaps more narrative and less threatening. This is one of the 33 tracks composing the album, whose total duration anyway doesn't overcome the 34 minutes

Escuchamos ahora una muestra de la pieza improvisada "Via Vespucci", una grabación que roza los 20 minutos de duración, fruto del encuentro en la ciudad de Nueva York de dos prometedores artistas provenientes de partes opuestas del mundo: el músico electrónico neozelandés Dion Workman, creador en este caso de texturas en crescendo, y el artista vasco Mattin, habitualmente también a los mandos de su laptop explorando el feedback y añadiendo emoción en los momentos cruciales. Si hace unos meses te presentábamos la primera entrega de las "series armónicas" del portugués Rafael Toral en el sello Table of the Elements, esto que suena ahora es una grabación del año pasado en directo desde Japón que se ha convertido en la segunda entrega de estas "Harmonic Series", compuestas con guitarra, electrónica analógica y software programado a medida. En esta ocasión edita la compañía japonesa Headz

If some months ago we could listen to the first delivery of Rafael Toral's "Harmonic Series" in the Table of the Elements label, this is a live recording from Japan last year that has become the second point in the series, made up with guitar, analogic electronics and custom software. In this occasion it releases the Japanese company Headz

08. PHONOPHANI

Pasamos ahora a escuchar el tercer álbum de Espen Sommer Eide, Phonophani, que hace ya 6 años debutaba en Biophon, el sello de Biosphere, y que acaba de editar su nuevo trabajo en Rune Grammofon, que incluye 10 cortes a lo largo de 43 minutos. Este es el que da nombre al disco: "Oak Or Rock"

Third album by Espen Sommer Eide, Phonophani, that 6 years ago debuted in Biophon, Biosphere's also Norwegian label, and has just released his new work in Rune Grammofon, including 10 tracks along 43 minutes. We have chosen the one that gives the name to the album: "Oak Or Rock"


09. ED LAWES

Hoy nos despedimos desde el sello Planet Mu, que dirige el británico Mike Paradinas, Mu-Ziq, presentando un nuevo disco que se sale un poco de la linea habitual seguida por la compañía, aunque esto se está convirtiendo en algo habitual en los últimos tiempos. Suena el debut de un músico de Birmingham llamado Ed Lawes, que consta de "14 cortes / piezas", así se titula el álbum, alternando los primeros -en un sentido más abstracto utilizando más o menos tecnología para su construcción-, con varias piezas para instrumentos tradicionales, como violín, bajo o saxo. Y con Ed Lawes nos despedimos hasta la semana que viene, hasta el mes que viene, hasta el año que viene!
