This past fall I saw Mari Kimura demonstrate and talk about her work at Harvestworks in NYC. I was surprised and heartened to learn that she teaches a class in interactive performance technique where these juliard kids not only have to play with computers but have to learn to do there own programing in max/msp. Not quite the bastion of 19th century musical values it once was I guess.
