Marqido aka Nakayuki Matsumoto started in Tokyo in 2003 - a laptop artist that worked with dancer Shukuka Chikanari. Their live set was a special performance of physical sound and energy. Sensual and radical! In May 2004, Marqido collaborated with Magical Power Mako, the legendary Japanese avant psychedelic musician who has been active since the 1970's. Later that year Marqido released a DVD / CD set Marqido + Magical Power Mako' on his own label  MARQIMEDIA and Mako's label KEROJETTER. This deluxe limited edition set documented the live session with Mako.

In October 2004 Marqido went to Seoul to play at an advanced music event called Bulgasari. This festival featured Yoshihide Otomo and Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan). In November Marqido released a new album 'Democritus' and was the first release on new Japanese label DHARMADOLL. The album is five experimental electronic pieces. The psychedelic illustrator Yunico Uchiyama created the beautiful illustration of Democritus and also designed the T-shirt for Marqido...It was released in a standard and deluxe box set edition.

In March 2005, Marqido held his first event 'Aka to Kuro' w/ Keiji Haino, Afrirampo, Kiyasu and Marqido. 'The music has the color that is red or black'.
