RE: [microsound] podcasting site?

Yes, you can go to a webpage and download the mp3, but if you use an RSS
aggregator, the content comes to you automatically and you don't have to
worry about checking the webpage for new content. I use an RSS aggregator
that plugs into Outlook - for me, getting a podcast is not much different
than checking for new e-mail messages.

For the truly technically challenged, some podcast apps will also copy the
content to your mp3 player for you. :-)

iPod batteries can be replaced - Apple has a battery replacement program,
some third parties offer this service and there are even some do-it-yourself
battery replacement kits. Apple states that they dispose the old battery in
an environmentally-friendly manner.

I finally dug into what podcasting is all about, downloaded Ipodder, found
some casting sites, and it all strikes me as a lot of hype. It's called
downloading an mp3. I guess Ipodder is just an rss aggregate that stores web
locations of 'podcasts'. Hmmmmmm. The spokenword podcasts I've downloaded
have been pretty awful (with a couple of exceptions), and the musical ones
could be downloaded from webpages. I don't get it.

....and another thing(!), how is apple getting around the fact that the ipod
battery dies and cant be replaced? seems wasteful, bad design.
