can you not put the location for saving the files as an argument in the 
write message,
like     ....{means message box}   [means object box]

{A}    {B}
 \      /
{write $1.mov -/my/file/location}
|
[jit.qt.record]

.......im thinking in PD terms, but maybe this works with max too?
