Re: [microsound] data storage

iTunes is pretty great at organizing and tagging a large number of
audio files, and is flexible with encoding formats. I'm unsure of any
FOSS alternatives at the moment.

Evening all!

A friend with a sizeable music collection in various formats (vinyl,
tape and some cd) wants to create a digital archive of all this material.

I have suggested that i could help transfer the various formats into wav
files (as i assume that this will remain a useful format for years to
come and with the right sampling rate and bit depth should provide more
than satisfactory quality).

Does anybody know of any good programs that function as "librarians" for
large numbers of files (in this format).

thanks (and sorry for this question not being so microsoundish)

Christos
