Re: [microsound] mpeg4 to audio format conversion
Quoting ". m u r m e r ." <murmer@xxxxxxxxxx>:
Does anyone know a simple method of converting the audio compment of an
mpeg4 to an audio format eg .wav (other than recording from line out to
line in)?
well who'd a thunk it - two people asking essentially the same
question almost simultaneously, and it seems i had the answer under
my nose all along. unlike, as far as i can tell, most of the sound
programs on the market (i tried cubase, nuendo, reason, logic,
goldwave...), the latest version of nero (burning rom 7 complete)
slightly ridiculously comes with both a wave editor and a basic
multitracker, both of which can open, convert and save mp4/m4a/aac
files. huh...

In linux the ffmpeg tool will to that with any movie. I bet you can
compile it for windows too!
ffmpeg -i INFILE -vn AUDIOFILE
-wade
