wtf! have you read any of the critiques of myspace that have been
posted here?
Have I not been involved in the discussion from top to bottom?
Of course I have read the thread.
If either of us has failed to understand it its you.
I agree with much of the critique, actually, and have expressed my opinion
on the remainder.
Rather than repeat myself, re read the other recent replies.
Or just spare us.
Either way.
Because the more absurd you become, the further down the slope to snarkiness
I will slip, and we'll all just wind up in a stupid pissing match
Your call, bubba.
and by read i mean spent some time trying to understand
the arguments instead of just using them as fodder for your next 'free
market' cheer?
if free markets are so great, why does america lead the world in per
capita prison population? in obesity? in weapons sales?
How the HELL do any of those have ANYTHING do to with MYSPACE?
Maybe we should just focus on the actual subject instead of flagellating
poorly made straw men, hmm?
Completely non-relevant reference, unless you somehow want to start tying in
things like US foreign policy and corporatism, and even then your reaaally
stretching it thin and should make a new thread.. somewhere else.
can you 'connect the dots'?
can you even imagine another world beside the one that is fed to you
via the government and mass media propaganda outlets?
/me shakes head and chuckles
I'll spare you a full accounting of the very many ways this is laughable,
and simply sum up by saying that I access an extremely broad set of
viewpoints and information conduits.
If either of us is regurgitating spin, its you.
I merely used a simple and valid analogy to describe some of the processes
at work in the ways users impose some amount of meritocratic process on what
artists (and by extension any meme) get propagated, and therefore benefit
from the big corporate datamining operation that is MySpace and similar.
But here you go, hair on fire, running off into some poorly constructed
diatribe about how free markets are the debbil.
No wonder its so easy for the neocons to paint us as moonbats to the public
at large and get their way despite their many failures and scandalous
actions.
