David, Although I sort of understand where you're coming from, your
statement is not true.
One can create beautiful full-resolution-however-many-bits-you-want sounds
from a 1Bit source.
These recordings would make for a great .microsound project.

Yeah, but it means it will never be "release" quality ... I suppose that I
don't fully buy the "aesthetics of failure" argument, I don't try to make
digital reproduce pristine analog sound or "real" sound, but I do try to
produce things that just sound "good". Even when there's obvious digital
glitches, or granular synthesis which is definitely a micro technique.
