No, but i guess they work just as well as any other random number generator. I was mainly thinking about 'trial and error' or the like.

Indeed. - But there might not be no (true) 'random'. (If so, the
"insightful output" isn't necessarily based on faulty background,
hence possibly being a new transcendent insight that makes sense in
the traditional way. That is, pseudo randomness can be a technique to
reach valid traditional knowledge, which is widely used.)
