I take your point but it's not quite true, IMO. OK digital technology
is moving faster than analogue did but, in the case of an old analogue
master tape, if I can get my hands on a tape machine in 10 years (or
even now in some places) I'm not so sure the tape heads will be aligned
and all the analogue circuitry in working order.
