While I by no means give much of a shit or want to start arguing the
point, let it just be said that Apple haven't levelled the playing field
much in my eyes.  At least, not compared to open source software
developers, who have made makeshift tools available for years and
broadened the market for entry- and semi-pro-level software and systems.
 Also, pirate software is much easier to find for PCs and that has
probably led to more end user skills development and thus wider
production than anything Apple ever did.
