Re: [microsound] boris + sunn o))) collaboration

I certainly agree with you in principle, but sometimes principle has to take a back seat to poverty. I've had virtually no income for the past 6 months or so, and the music I download is not by struggling artists but by musicians who have more money than they know what to do with (the last time I downloaded it was stuff by Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler). When I do have the funds to pay for CDs, that's when I buy stuff from musicians who need the money.

Same goes for software. I always pay for shareware by individual programmers for whom a few bucks matter, but Adobe won't go out of business if I get a boot of Photoshop, without which I can't do my own art. My ethics may be a bit slippery, but that's the way it is sometimes when you live on the fringes.

Sorry if my attitude offends anyone. I promise you that my principles will be higher as soon as I can afford them.

Yes, but from what I understand, none of this money that goes to Allofmp3
goes to the artists. I consider that a greater theft than just trading good
tunes (since radio isn't doing its job nowadays).

You can download the album for 2 bucks from AllOfMP3:

AllOfMP3 is a great resource for downloading music. They're located
in Russia, so their downloads are really cheap (important
consideration for us po' folk). I've been using them for a couple of
years and have found them very reliable to deal with - no problem
with credit cards through their payment site.
