I think that I'd take issue with the idea here that when a performer does not play on a mathematical time interval it should be regarded as an imperfection or slip. I see this the other way around, that a machine generated and regular time interval is not either the natural or desirable state of rhythm.


We are funky beings. We groove. But it's the 21st century, so we try to make machines groove with us, as we want them to join us in our world. It's sooo 20th century to want to join the machines in their world.
