Weave Soundpainting Orchestra, Tintinnabulate,
CCRMA, and DANM collaborate via Internet2 for this
unique performance. Using live audio and video
streams, the four groups will perform together in real
time using a high-speed internet2 connection with Jack
Trip software developed by Chris Chafe, Director of
CCRMA, and video through MAC OS 10 iCHATav.

Biographies -

Weave Soundpainting Orchestra is a multidisciplinary
performance ensemble based in Chicago, IL. Featuring
musicians, actors, dancers, and visual art Soundpainted
by Artistic Director Sarah Weaver, Weave is on the
forefront of new genres in contemporary
multidisciplinary performance. Soundpainting is the live
composing sign language created by New York
composer Walter Thompson for musicians, dancers,
actors, poets, and visual artists working in the medium
of structured improvisation. For more information on

Tintinnabulate is a multimedia ensemble of graduate
students and faculty of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
created and currently directed by Pauline Oliveros with
technical support by Jonas Braasch and Dan Valente of
the Architecture department. Tintinnabulate performs in
interesting acoustic spaces with acoustic and electronic
instruments and has participated in many co-located
telepresence performances via the INTERNET. Currently
Tintinnabulate is involved in weekly networked
rehearsals with CCRMA at Stanford University and other
locations.

The Stanford University Center for Computer Research
in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) is a multi-disciplinary
facility where composers and researchers work
together using computer-based technology both as an
artistic medium and as a research tool.
