cosmosuave presents episode #3 of broadcast... Please do not let the name
fool you... broadcast is the name of the monthly that features electronic
artists showcasing their talents in the comfy confines of Le Petit
Dejueuner...

This month feature will be the following...

Spooloops is Ian James Newton, a contemporary visual artist whose work
encompasses installation, sculpture, sound art and music. Also, he
coordinates interventions, happenings, and interactive gatherings. Ian
established and maintains the Zero to One space, a multi-disciplinary art
venue in Kitchener, Ontario. Music making is his big distraction and the
Spooloops project is dancey but with indy sensibilities. Other recent
projects include co-production of Mossyrock,s OEthe Zero to One Sessions,
and OECreak Speak0/00 a sound installation for the Open Ears Festival of
Sound and New Music. A full length Spooloops recording is in the works for
the upcoming year.

Ian lives half the year in Kitchener and the other half in his imagination.

Weaned since birth on a steady diet of 60's brit invasion(parental
influence), 70's disco, 80's new wave and punk, 90's grunge and metal and
present electronic influences. Cosmo's live electronic performance
consists of thumpin 4/4 beats, characterized by deep and dirty rolling
basslines punctuated by by vocoded vocals and big analogue synth washes
delving into the realms of techno and electro.
