[microsound] Re: microsound Digest 16 Oct 2007 22:09:53 -0000 Issue 1878

Dear Kerry,

<After browsing some different artists' discograph[ies]. I found that many were involved in the invalidObject Series released by Fallt. Very cool concept, design etc. Does anyone know of where I can purchase these CDs? Anyone comment on them?>

From our records it appears you have purchased a boxed set of the 'invalidObject Series' CDs already. I also have a note from my partner W. Conrad Rontgen that he recently sent you 20 CND, in order to cover your expenses to replace some CD jewel boxes whih had arrived broken after we'd dispatched them (stating: "I apologize for the trouble and hope you will now be able to enjoy your iO without regrets..."). So this post seems odd.

If we can help in any way, do please contact us.

Also, just to confirm what Ralph and Garrett had written, the entire series can be downloaded in high-bitrate, 320 KBPs, MP3 format via the Fallt website:

http://www.fallt.com/invalidobject

Listeners to this thread may be interested in a couple of recent works we have released. 'Offset' a revitalised series explores the use of advertising spaces within publications for non-advertising purposes. 'Offset' explores social and cultural issues within advertising spaces. Recent pieces have included a commentary of the current situation in Iraq, mapping daily civilian death tolls:

http://www.fallt.com/offset/one_hundred_days

Another recent piece uses purchased stocks and shares (in this case a British bank currently undergoing difficulty) to create a 'drawing' dictated by the market:

http://www.fallt.com/offset/crash

Fallt will soon be releasing a limited edition of 100 signed and numbered archival quality giclee prints (http://www.gicleeprint.net/ abtGclee.shtm) based on the above pieces, if anyone is interested in these, please do get in touch as demand appears high. We can send PDFs of the standalone prints if you would like to see them.

Sincerely,

Christian

Hear about this the other day on CBC"s Radio 1 Spark program... It is
a bicycle that is equipped to recieve 802.11 wireless transmisions and
to convert them into audio sounds... This bike is available to sign
out and ride around... A pretty cool idea...

you can find some of them here:
http://www.forcedexposure.com/bin/search.pl? search_string=fallt&searchfield=
label

but it will probably be very difficult to find the complete series.

here's the link for the label:

good luck,

hi

have you tried the Fallt website here? http://www.fallt.com/
invalidobject
it looks like they are all there in zip format - there should be 360
tracks in total - just takes a bit of work to download there and put
them in order.
All tracks are a minute long, been a while since I've listened to it
but it's definetly worth downloading, Warmdesk, Pimmon and Pita I
think are possibly the best on there

if i remember correctly there was a specially built
case offered to hold the complete series...it may have
been available through forced exposure or the sadly
defunct anomalous...

this was only available directly through f=E4llt. it wasn't that special, as
it's a cardboard box with a sticker on the outside and all 24 cd's (if i
remember the amount correctly) packed in jewel cases inside...

cheers, ralph.
