you can't open a .php file in iTunes
even if you change the file type to .m3u
it won't work
iTunes is truly a remarkable POS
I only use it when I have to
on the other hand
VLC or VideoLAN is a very nice app and it is cross platform
truly the Swiss Army Knife of media players

but if you cut 'n paste the following into the iTunes sub to podcast  
window
http://www.interdisciplina.org/microsound-repository/podcast/ 
dircaster.php?project=microspace
you should be able to get at the latest project
caveat: it will not stream the project but DL's it to your hard drive
like a regular podcast

I tried to stream this in iTunes but it doesn't work for some reason  
I'm too busy to figure out
