Re: [microsound] OT: warning about Airport on MBP

I had this problem too. You can undo the airport update and replace it with an older version. Instructions here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa? threadID=1463824&tstart=0

Or you could turn your airport off when you perform, but what would a laptop performance be without someone checking email on stage.

same thing happened using my G4 laptop and a Presonus firebox. Was running Logic 8 and discovered airport to be the culprit. Had fond memories of the old Mac extension conflicts.

warning for those with intel-mac laptops:
after spending a few hours last night (prepping for my gig tonight) tracking down why the @#@$% i was getting major audio dropouts suddenly in ableton live 7, i finally found the culprit - airport! after switching interfaces (m-audio firewire 410 to mBox) and versions (live 7 to live 6) i remembered a thread on the max list (i believe) about airport interfering with max and tried turning it off. voila.
