oh! i must mention, furniture has a lot to do with how one appreciates or 
receives these "performances", whether they are actively played or not.

am i sitting comfortably in a theatre, or i am milling around in a club or 
warehouse, looking for a wall to lean on?

abstract music, unless it is played with utmost aggression, is going to be 
received with more difficulty, than some nice idm with plenty-o-beats. 
that's why phoenicia is so particularly compelling in performance. they 
sock-it-to-you with those smacky beats and aggressive dsp-ing.
