ah, yes, wonderful! on the occasion of needle, jeswa & mad evil performing 
needle's "score" for nosferatu, improvisation was the fantastic element, w/ 
jeswa the erzats conductor, conducting through mixing. the results of the 
interplay made it far more interesting than if the score had simply been 
performed by one or the other.

and to address the reception of an audience for a laptop performance, the 
expectation on the part of the presenters was for the audience (although 
presented in a gallery, it was on an evening in which a one-nighter is 
routinely held) to behave as one normally does in a club, listen for 10 or 
20 minutes, walk around, converse w/ your friends, go outside, return.
given that the film is an hour, i was astonished that people sat on the 
floor (there were few chairs) and actually paid attention to the entire 
screening/performance. this was their expectation, i am coming to see a 
movie enhanced by a musical performance.
