No shred cred... this is a good point. I love to allow or leave room for
the happy accident. For me I only really BLOOMED creatively (and I'd
been doing art stuff all my life) when I was able to surrender control
and aboandoned myself to the situation. In a related vein, some of what
I love about the Dadaists is their use of "random" methods for
constructing pieces (cut-up writing, etc.), and I have tried similar
approaches in making music. Sometimes such methods leave even more room
for things to happen...

The more one allows randomness or accidents into the process the more
the result can heard/seen as having been done by someone else. I have
encountered old recordings of mine I almost do not recognize because of
this... it's quite amusing and entertaining!
