length of work

I have no preference in track length.  Furthermore 
<www.cia.com.au/alias/furthermore> is a three hour program, which gives us 
the opportunity to play long (>1hr) works, but we also often play short 
(<1min) pieces.

My mixing depends on the works and my whims - with a background in sample 
collage I sometimes get 'creative' with the mixing, but at other times the 
works seem to require more 'respect'.

As for announcements, once or twice per hour is enough to get the relevant 
information across without disturbing the flow of music.

My own music tended to hover around the 7minute mark for several years, but 
that's changed over recent years, with 15-20min ambient pieces and most 
recently, a series of 1min media collage tracks.  Different works require 
different lengths.
