i find the works of the above artists to be more focussed, and
the thin sounds that they use leave no room for error..with a 
thicker sound you can often hide the inadequacies (lost in the
reverb and delay, or just the layering of sounds)..

i have been listening to richard chartier's "post fabricated" quite
often, and i become totally concentrated on the repeating sounds
and the sounds in between them.

it is all just preference though..
less is more.
