big days (out)    ..


             they   let me in. I
  was worried that they might ask for i.d. and find i was well over the age
limit.
       Cues and lines...people moving around in  streams,
  get to the next thing;  must see; must drink.



the highs where few, waitings long, futures alluded to.


           + rehberg and bauer play in the what is music?  cave
  which minutes before had been full of trainspotters watching those crazy
scratch happy kids.
    now it's empty...teens walk past the
        stage in one of those streams,
 ears fully plugged with fingers.


   i said sometime ago about a (digital)hardcore dj
                  "Try reterritorialising these sounds!"

well they seem to have been.
       Not as fully as the cringe fest of atari teenage riot but still
  ...she is playing   at   low volume, the terror  well gone..
            .next door  rehberg and bauer are where the extremes are....
it starts so quietly but the  squealing high end tears
    don't take long to     raise the eyebrows of anyone who
                 cared to listen.


   +then skot
        playing to a video projection. sounds crack and snap, scapes
             built    and lost.

   tina and matthius stand in front of the screen
                lit by their laptop displays,
 watching the screens, reacting.
   ....unlike rehberg they are happy for all to
     see what is on the displays
though i have no idea what they were doing.


    .. and fennesz,. Sounds    that where glanced earlier are played out here...
   melodies  resolve themselves amongst surface clicks and scratches.

         questions of music/noise/sound  'audio'...




   --robbie thumped a huge shivering gong as i
         left the tent to join the crowd home.

                 waiting for more from next week's 'what is music? festival.
