no, that's a completely different story involving tesla or faraday or
whoever, can't remember.  :)

the 'silencing' of sound, however, i think may be feasible (probably
through rather expensive means) though once again it won't lead you into
any sort of fourth-dimensional timewarp.

besides, we're already in the 4th dimension.  as well as many others, if
mr. hawking is to be believed.
