Re: [microsound] mac emulators, soundhack...mixer
sarcasm noted, 22 years old noted.
each artist chooses the tools that he/she uses for particular reasons, usually to
achieve a specific end. often, apps (such as soundHack) take time to perform
their functions - and they are are used for the reason that they do things in
certain way, and produce results that no other app can. while i can appreciate the
fact that it's a little slow, speed doesn't necessarily denote quality or, from an
artists standpoint, make for the best choice. if speed was the only issue, i would
have stopped using my s550 years ago (it's really clunky and takes forever to send
samples to MIDI sample dump), but it sounds like nothing else out there. used in
conjunction with other software, each piece of software has it's place, and has
it's own nitch. soundHack is one of them. MetaSynth is also quite slow, slower to
work with then soundHack, but i wouldn't stop using it for speed's sake. i
actually plan on buying a new processor...
