Re: [microsound] Ritornell takes a liberty?

Ritornell.(Taylor?) do you feel compromised? just curious, if it's fine with
you then it will of course be judged as such.

well, my ritornell release was the very first cd of mine that i didn't do the cover art for.. but, no, i actually don't feel compromised because i accepted the offer and went into the release knowing that all of the artwork was the same..

if my cd was on mille plateaux, and somoene else did the artwork, then yes, i would feel compromised because i expect all of the MP releases to look different.. but i view ritornell as a series.. also, importantly, i *like* the ritornell cover art.. so it didn't bother me.. if the series had horrible artwork i would have probably been reluctant to do a release for it.

also, ironically enough, my rater.music/rater static cd just came out.. here is another series of cds with similar artwork (and the 2nd cd of mine that i didn't do the package for)... similar packaging, but still very nice packaging..

being a designer myself, yes, it is EXTREMELY important for me to do my own packaging design.. but, i will only relinquish control if i trust the designer on the other end.
