life in montréal; many shows to come!

anyway, onto other things.  this weekend promises to be entertaining.

as per usual, i'm spending my saturday morning (1:47pm, really) with a
mild hangover & i'll probably get another one tomorrow from attending
tonight's show in montréal <http://www.alien8recordings.com/news.php3>
featuring david kristian & kevin drumm.  another one tomorrow, too,
though in a more 'instrumental' setting, featuring pillow as well as 2
local constellation-related bands, hanged up & duoloz.

& then the day after that (monday) i'm going to victoriaville; missing
lussier & gobeil's wonderful electroacoustic piece 'le contrat' (seen it
already, an inventive mélange of exploratory guitar & daxophone with a
fairly abstract tape work), but then there's jean derome's canot camping
project which promises to be an expansive, joyful hell of a gig, then
the frith/cutler show & then the crispell/taylor double-pack.

& of course from june 7 to 11 there's MUTEK!  there is a free '5 à 7'
gig every day: find me on the thursday one especially, featuring taylor
deupree & richard chartier!  as for the pay shows ($20 a night, not too
bad), the choice is incredible: deupree, panacea & savvas ysatis (don't
know him, but supposedly the stuff he'll do is very good) on wednesday;
the raster-noton crew on thursday; jake mandell (!), vladislav delay
(!!), sutekh on friday; thomas brinkman & tomas jirku on saturday (i'll
be there!); & lastly pole & kit clayton on sunday.

i'm also planning on putting up a show the weekend after that, featuring
some no type-related luminaries, among which kaia wong (anaesthesia)'s
new band, some napalm jazz-related project to be announced, as well as
the first asyncdrone live appearance in 2 years.  more details will
follow for those lucky enough to live in this hellhole of a city.  :)
