Prince kind of did... and the whole thing of using the symbol for his
name because his label owned his real name...  i thought that was
kind of cool, in an anti-system kind of way.

now he uses Prince again because his contract terms are over...




 What I find really really sad is that all the
 musicians/artists/whoever that are signed with those huge
 recording/publishing/distributing monsters don't get up and say how
 they are f**ked by them.  If most artists are fine with about 5% of
 their Cd retail price (+ perhaps 10% of copyright where applicable)
 they must not have a very high esteem.

i agree, but check out courtney love's speech on mp3 and so forth, posted on salon.com. she (or her speechwriter, whichever comes first) says some very pertinent things in this regard.
